I’m
not feelin’ bad so I guess I’m all right
I keep well and eat well and sleep well at night
I am not in love and my heart isn’t broken
By something you said or by words left unspoken
I
have no opinions on what’s right or wrong
I just felt like writing a song, is all
I just felt like writing a song
You’d
think I would have some profound thought or feeling
Or vision or wound that is in need of healing
But I don’t have any of those, no complaint
I could be compelled to compose, but I ain’t
The
truth is I had nothing better to do, and
I just felt like writing a song, that’s all
I just felt like writing a song.
(Release)
There’s
something so pleasing about making rhymes up
And finding a tune that starts low and then climbs up
And so lifts the words 'til the spirit soars with them
And lends them more meaning than you’d ever give them
(Without ever losing the meter and rhythm)
I just felt
like writing a song, A SONG!
I just felt like writing a song
Well, thank you for taking the time out to listen
‘Cause very few songs are as pointless as this’n
No message, no mission, no wishing, no whining
No passion, no pissin’, or praising or pining
The honest
truth is I've got nothing to say
I just felt like writing a song, that’s all
I just felt like writing a song.
